Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Clerk to join our team. This individual will assist with various administrative tasks within the Human Resources department, including assisting with recruiting efforts. The ideal candidate will be proactive, will have the ability to think outside the box, and will possess excellent communication skills.

 

Overview

Schedule: Full Time – Permanent

Shift: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm EST

Salary: $19.00 per hour

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process new hire paperwork, including employment contracts, background checks, and other relevant documents.
  • Create job postings, identify qualified applicants, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews and schedule virtual interviews with the hiring managers.
  • Create profiles for new employees using our ADP workforce platform.
  • Track one month and annual review dates, health insurance due dates, and other employee milestones.
  • Track employees on medical leave and follow up regularly on their expected return.
  • Report regularly on HR metrics (number of employees hired, terminated).
  • Sign employees up for health insurance.
  • Draft various letters when necessary (employment letters, transferring department letters, raise letters).
  • Perform one-month reviews and register eligible employees for TELUS Health.

 

Requirements

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skills. French is an asset.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Helpful, friendly and comforting personality.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and overcome problems.
  • Knowledge of provincial labour laws, HR practices and regulations is considered an asset.
