A business is nothing without the people that hold it together, and at LinkNow Media, we have a lot of glue! It’s always fun to get an insight into what someone’s day at work might be like, especially when they are doing a different job than you. So, we put the word out and received some great responses!

The Work Day

Adina Costa is our Design Team Manager.. We first asked her about her morning ritual – what does she do at home or at work, that gets her pumped up for the day ahead? Pumpin’ it up with a cup of Nespresso is the best decision she’s ever made – nothing beats good coffee! This must be the case, because she has her inbox cleared by 8:30am.

A workspace says a lot about a person, and when it comes to hers, Adina prefers a cleared desk to assist with focus. Clutter affects concentration. Oh, and don’t touch her chair. If it’s not found the way she left it, at the perfect height and incline, whoever changed it will face consequences!

Throughout the day, she welcomes her team, makes sure everyone has some work (not too much though!) and runs around like crazy between Customer Service and Design. Praising her team and assuring them everything is A-OK helps them to keep up the good work. Of course, as a manager there are also a few apocalypses to avert every day. When she’s not doing that, she’s able to do some designing herself, find the “right” photo for a project and of course, continue to email walls of text. It gets crazy sometimes!

When it comes to taking breaks, she used to skip them, but realized that she’s more functional when she’s able to take a quick bite, or just a few moments to have a laugh with a coworker.

The Support System

Amidst the chaos of the office, what can ruin her day is people bringing her down. Especially when a client gets the most beautiful website from her team, and then want it reverted to the original framework. Then, she feels bad for the client, and sad for her designer who put in tons and tons of work to no avail. But in the end, she gets the tantrum out of the way and moves on.

Adina’s team, along with the pretty shiny things they build and of course, Nespresso, are the things that keep her excited to come back to work every day. Her favorite thing about the people she works with is that her team members are genuine. There are of course surprises now and again, but it’s mostly good. They all help each other and understand that without help they’d get nowhere.

Being left alone in a crazy horrendous situation is the worst possible feeling, so being able to get the help you need from the people around you is the best.

In Closing

When asked what she’d like to add (pay attention, team members if you’re reading!), Adina says she’d like to get another puppy. Anything small, except a Chihuahua.. Preferably a Shorkie (a Shih-Tzu Yorkie mix). She is accepting puppy donations now!!!

Adina’s three keys for success in the design department:

“Punctuality, Organization and Obedience…err, I mean Artistic Eye 😊”
